TOPICAL BALMS AND LINIMENTS
Fu (pronounced foo) Medicinals topical balms and liniments provide pain relief for a range of injuries and strains.
John hand crafts balms and liniments built from ancient recipes of the Chinese Kung Fu Martial Arts lineages. Each medicine is hand-crafted in small batches in Oregon, using mostly organic and locally-produced ingredients whenever the option is there. |
Dit Da Jiao Trauma Liniment and Balm (dit-dah-jow) is translated as "Hit-Fall Wine". Both the original formula and balm adaptation are made from medicinal herbs that reduce inflammation and eliminate pain very quickly. This formula is what I call my Pacific North West Dit Da Jiao, and it's perfect for acute injuries, as well as flare-ups from older injuries. It removes hot swelling, moves stagnant blood, and relaxes tense tissues. The balm uses organic oils and beeswax as the medium and allows for easy application.
The Tendon Mending Jiao and Balm formula is made to treat chronic tendon and ligament injury, such as tendonitis and ligament joint sprains. This formula has the reputation of warming and relieving stubborn cases and should be applied to the problem area before and after activity. However, because this is a warming formula, avoid use during the first 24-48 hours of a new injury. The balm allows for easy application.
Bone Spur Jiao and Balm is quite effective as help for addressing pains of bone spurs, osteoarthritis, painful callouses, and joint pains in general. It is the most popular formula in the collection and has received much praise! This formula is for chronic conditions.
Ghost Jiao is a liniment that penetrates down deep to injuries that cannot be seen with the eyes but can clearly be felt by the patient. It soaks down to the periosteum and bone level, helping with bone bruises, fractures, arthritis, and joint injury. This is effective for acute and chronic situations.
Also available is Muscle Oil. This is similar to the original Wong Cheung Wah "U-I" recipe, made with organic oils and Chinese Medicinal Herbs. It excels at calming the pain and stiffness of aching muscles, especially when the discomfort feels worse in cold and damp environments. This oil is fantastic for massage and cupping therapies, as its warmth penetrates deep into muscle tissue. The balm version is a stiffer medium and enables easy application for those who don't want to use oil. Both are excellent for massage, cupping, and gua sha therapies.
With all of these medicines, a little goes a very long way! The balms spread very easily and don't feel too greasy on the skin. The liniments are not oily at all, and work best when applied using a cotton ball. All of the Fu Medicinals topicals carry a mild and pleasant scent. All balms, liniments and oils are available in 2-ounce jars.
